About KungFu Podcasts

KungFu Podcasts began after years of running my Chinese Martial Arts School in Raleigh, NC. In 2019, the Kwoon has been running for over 15 years, and I began formal training around 1990.

I came from an emphasis of Practical and Application training out of Fayetteville, NC. Most of my classmates were part of the Ft. Bragg Special Forces. To say that we would test things for their needs, is an understatement. Those years changed my life.

KungFu Podcasts is a program based on the attributes of martial arts. For example, the sciences of sociology, anthropology and history. The program is about the people and mechanisms of martial arts that contribute to modern martial arts.

About Teaching Chinese Martial Arts

Teaching Chinese Martial Arts is very close to my heart. The principles, the guidance and development of one-self is exactly what I needed on my journey.

Every Chinese Martial Art has core principles that they are built around. These are eluded to even in the Wu Bei Zhi (the original Chinese BuBiShi).

When I teach, I encourage the practitioner to understand the context of the style based on its Core Principles, then as we interpret the technique to meet the objectives.

Metaphorically, there is a reason that Geometry and Algebra are two seperate classes, though they use similar principles. It is because what they are looking for is different. Though they use similar techniques. You have to know which class you are in, to arrive at the proper objective.

Whether I am teaching at my school in Raleigh NC, or in a Martial Arts Facility anywhere in the country, I start there, then we can understand what the practical martial essence of :

  • Lama Pai / Hop Gar
  • Southern Style Choy Li Fut
  • Hsing I
  • Yi Chuan
  • BaGau Zhang
  • TaiJi Chuan

If you want to learn more about the Chinese Martial Arts and have me do a seminar with you, just get in touch with me.

I enjoy producing KungFu Podcasts. The friends I have made around the world has been an incredible gift. I hope you stick around, get to know me, the other members of the family and the Agents of Action.
